Restrained consumer behaviour crucial for regulating prices of essentials: Prof Sadat Hossain
The restrained behavior of consumers contributes to the regulation of commodity prices, economist Dr Mohammad Sadat Hossain Siddiqui said on Thursday.
Speaking at a seminar organised by the economics department of Sheikh Borhanuddin Post Graduate College, Prof Sadat Hossain said these seminars serve as a catalyst in nurturing future economists among young students, reads a press release.
Dr Sadat, a professor of Economics department at Dhaka University, shed light on various aspects of this fiscal year's budget.
College Principal Professor Abdur Rahman presided over the seminar.
Among others, Vice Principal Professor Asma Parveen was present as a special guest, teachers' representatives led by Associate Professor of Economics department Azima Begum, Associate Professor of English department Syed Khalid Mahmud and Associate Professor of Chemistry department Abul Qais Mia and other teachers and students of the department were also present on this occasion.
Principal Professor Abdur Rahman said that such seminars can play a special role in improving the quality of students.
