Shakti Foundation contributes Tk 50 lakhs to Chief Adviser’s Relief Fund for flood victims
Shakti Foundation has continued its efforts to support vulnerable populations affected by severe flooding in five of Bangladesh's most devastated districts in the southeast. Since the floods began, the organization has spent over Tk 1 crore providing food relief to more than 10,000 families, free emergency medical care to 5,630 women and children through mobile clinics, and shelter for 332 individuals in its branch offices.
On 10 September 2024, Shakti Foundation contributed Tk 50 lakhs—equivalent to one day's salary of its employees—to the Honourable Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for post-flood rehabilitation. The donation was handed over to Mr Farooq E Azam, Bir Pratik, Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
Mr Imran Ahmed, Deputy Executive Director of Shakti Foundation, expressed his gratitude saying, "We thank all Shakti Foundation staff for contributing one day's salary to assist those in need during this difficult period. We are committed to working alongside the Chief Adviser and the Interim Government to rehabilitate flood victims and rebuild the nation."
