Special commemoration ceremony titled ‘Hridoye Amar Anwar Chacha held in Dhaka
In memory of Alhaj Anwar Hossain, the founder chairman of Anwar Group of Industries and the pioneer of industrialisation of Bangladesh, a special commemorative programme titled "Hridoye Amar Anwar Chacha" was held at Kara Convention Hall, Dhaka on 2 August.
Alhaj Anwar Hossain was recognised as an icon for people of different professions from different walks of life of Bangladesh. He created the Anwar Group family of 18,000 employees, reads a press release.
To carry forward the ideals, philosophy and legacy left by him, the current chairman, Manwar Hossain is leading the Anwar Group along with Vice Chairman Hossain Mehmood and Group Managing Director Hossain Khaled.
Through the ceremony, this legend was honoured with the "Mayor's Award" and the title of "Dhakar Sreshthho Shontan" (Dhaka's Greatest Son) by Dhaka South City Corporation.
The event ended with prayers and commemoration of Alhaj Anwar Hossain's unending and unwavering contribution to the development and progress of the country and nation.
Qamrul Islam MP, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh were present at the programme.
Along with Dhaka residents and families, Anwar Group Chairman Manwar Hossain, Vice Chairman Hossain Mehmood and Group Managing Director Hossain Khaled were also present in the event.
