UNDP and DIU launch one-minute video campaign to drive SDG awareness
UNDP Bangladesh has teamed up with the Department of Journalism, Media, and Communication (JMC) at Daffodil International University (DIU) to launch the "One-minute Video Campaign" as part of the Community Digital Storytelling Festival (CDSTF). The campaign aims to engage youth in creating innovative content that promotes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to foster awareness and action toward achieving the SDGs by 2030.
The campaign, which highlights the power of digital storytelling to drive positive change, encourages university students to use their creativity to showcase how youth voices can play a pivotal role in global sustainable development efforts.
The submission period runs from September 25 to October 25, 2024, with results to be announced on November 30, 2024, and a closing ceremony scheduled for February 25, 2025. Videos will be judged based on social media engagement as well as by a jury panel, with all content required to be original. The use of stock footage is limited to 3-5 seconds with proper credits.
Stefan Liller, UNDP Bangladesh's Resident Representative, stated, "We encourage all young people to engage in nation-building processes. With their creative contributions, Bangladeshi youth are actively driving reforms, and we believe campaigns like this will empower them to discover more about themselves and their communities."
Aftab Hossain, Head of the Department of JMC and Adviser of CDSTF, emphasized the critical role of youth in societal transformation, noting that, "We are committed to engaging youth in all our initiatives, as we believe they are the catalysts for meaningful and sustainable change. This partnership with UNDP Bangladesh reflects our shared vision and dedication to achieving these common goals."
