World Standards Day tomorrow
The 54th World Standards Day will be celebrated tomorrow (14 October), with the theme "Shared vision for a better world – Standards for SDGs".
This day will be celebrated all over the world as well as in Bangladesh. Regarding this day. President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder and Ministry of Industries Senior Secretary Zakia Sultana have given separate messages, reads a press release.
To observe the day, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has taken several programmes as a national standards body. BSTI will organise discussion meetings at its head office, regional and district offices as a part of this programme.
BSTI is going to organise a discussion meeting on 19 October at 11am at its head office at Tejgaon Industrial Area in Dhaka. Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will be present as the chief guest.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Ministry of Industries Senior Secretary Zakia Sultana and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Mahbubul Alam will be present as special guests at the event.
BSTI Director General (Grade-1) Md Abdus Sattar will preside over the discussion meeting.
