As followers of Prophet, we must be honest in businesses: Foreign minister
Referring to the Prophet’s life and teachings, Momen said those are the best source for learning and practicing Islam
As the followers of the beloved Prophet, we must be ethical, honest and trustworthy in the businesses or trades we do, said Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.
"We must ensure the quality of our services, provide the best value and ensure the optimal benefit of our clients and our community," he said while addressing a programme on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi – birthday of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh).
At the virtual event organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) on Saturday, scholars and speakers from different countries discussed several topics including religion, global pandemic, women and humanity, science and technology, and sustainable development in light of Islam.

The foreign minister at the event said, "Our Prophet have emphasised the importance of economy. His first profession was trading, and our Prophet taught a great deal on ethical trading.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed us into challenging situations and as Muslims, our duty to care for all human beings is in line with the teachings of our beloved Prophet."
"Unity is a strength which will lead us to ultimate victory. So, the world needs collective actions to win this fight against Covid-19," he added.
He also said the present world is undergoing anxious, depressing and tense situations as the trend of hostile incidents, discrimination and racist activities against the Muslims and Islam is rising.
"But Islam is a religion that carries the essence of peace and harmony. Our Prophet teaches us to show tolerance and compassion for the followers of other faiths, and to live in harmony, respect and protect each other's rights," said the foreign minister.
"Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) showed us how to build an inclusive, tolerant and peaceful society for the welfare of humanity," he said.
Referring to the Prophet's life and teachings, Momen said those are the best source for learning and practicing Islam. His teachings encompass all aspects of life, and are suitable everywhere, every time.
"Our prophet always showed modesty and respect to women. He revolutionised the status of women in society," he continued.
"The best amongst you is one who treats women with kindness and gives them their rights and treats them with justice," Momen said citing the Prophet.
Among others, Sheikh Fazle Fahim, president of FBCCI, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, media advisor to the prime minister, Prof Dr Asep Saifuddin of Al-Azhar University of Indonesia, Sheikh Abu Bakkar S Mohammad, a Nigerian scholar, Hilmi Demir of Ankara University school in Turkey also spoke at the event.
