Govt committed to ensure pro-people tax system: Planning Minister
The minister underscored the commitment of the incumbent government to promote fairness in tax collection
Planning Minister MA Mannan, on Monday, said that the government is working to ensure a people-oriented tax system that is accountable to people and will help to increase tax revenue, as well.
The minister also underscored the commitment of the incumbent government to promote fairness in tax collection.
He came up with the remarks at a discussion, held at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital. A human right-based organization, Shushashoner Jonno Procharavijan (Supro), organised the view exchange meeting, ahead of the National Income Tax Day.
Speakers at the event demanded to reform the tax structure along with increased tax on tobacco trade so as to reduce harmful consumption of tobacco. They also underscored the need for increasing tax for promoting health and wellbeing for the citizens. Abdul Awal, chairperson at the Supro, president the proceedings.
