Unido director-general to visit Dhaka next month
Bangladesh mission in Vienna and Unido Dhaka office confirmed the visit on Wednesday
The director-general of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido), Li Yong, will visit Dhaka from March 3 to 5.
He will lead a five-member delegation comprising Unido Department of Programmes, Partnerships and Field Integration Director Zou Ciyong, Agri-Business Director Dejene Tezera, Regional Division for Asia and Pacific Programme Officer Prakash Mishra, and Unido Country Representative for Bangladesh Zaki Uz Zaman.
After his arrival in Dhaka on March 3, Li will visit Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the capital's Dhanmondi and pay tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Besides, he will hold a number of bilateral meetings with the industries minister, the foreign affairs minister, the fisheries and livestock minister, the finance minister, and the environment, forest and climate change minister.
The delegation will visit textile, shipbuilding and pharmaceutical units.
Li will also visit the metrolab facility of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution.
Before leaving Dhaka for Vienna, Li will present a keynote speech at a seminar hosted by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries.
