Mutual Trust Bank organises anti-money laundering conference
The bank’s performance of 2019 in terms of anti-money laundering and combating terror financing was evaluated at the meeting while new strategies for the year of 2020 were also adopted there
The Mutual Trust Bank Limited recently organised the Branch Anti Money Laundering Compliance Officers (Bamlco) Conference 2020 at a convention hall in the capital, said a press release.
Senior executives and officials of concerned divisions of the bank participated in the conference. Bamlco is a forum of officials of the bank engaged in its anti-graft operations.

Head of Bangladesh financial intelligence unit (BFIU), Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan graced the conference as the chief guest.
Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and chief executive officer of Mutual Trust Bank advised the bank's officials to strive further to mitigate the risk of money laundering and terror financing by complying with the regulatory instructions on anti-money laundering and combating terror financing rules.
Among others from the BFIU— AKM Ramizul Islam, deputy general manager, Md Khairul Anam, joint director, and Md Rokon-Uz-Zaman, deputy director, and from the Mutual Trust Bank— Syed Rafiqul Haq and Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, additional managing directors, Goutam Prosad Das, deputy managing director, and Tarek Reaz Khan, deputy managing director and chief anti money laundering compliance officer, attended the event.
