Labour unrest: Beximco to get loans from labour ministry, Finance Division to clear unpaid wages

In order to end the ongoing labour unrest of the workers of Beximco factories centring unpaid October wages, the interim government is set to provide loans to the company through the labour ministry and finance division.
In a notice over the loans signed by labour ministry Secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman issued today (19 November), he also urged the workers to join work immediately.
The secretary further directed all factories of the company in the Ashulia-Chandra area to resume production normally.
Demanding one month's overdue salary, workers of several Beximco Industrial Park factories today demonstrated for the fifth consecutive day by blocking the Chandra-Nabinagar highway at Chakraborty intersection in the Sarabo area of Kashimpur, Gazipur.
They resumed their blockade on the highway at around 10am, after calling off the fourth day's protests late last night.
