Sanofi employees issue ultimatum for compensation
A human chain will be formed on October 24 to press employees demands for their compensation
Sanofi Bangladesh's Employees' Union issued a 24-hour ultimatum today demanding a meeting with company's country head and managing director to discuss about their compensation.
Sanjib Kumar Chakraborty, secretary-general of Sanofi Bangladesh Employees' Welfare Council, read out a written statement during a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity.
"A human chain will be formed on October 24 to press our demands," Sanjib Kumar added.
He also warned of tougher programme if Sanofi authorities do not meet their demands.
Council President Anowar Hossain said, "We demand job security until the final settlement."
"The company's move to sell its shares when it was flourishing with double-digit growth, is a part of long term conspiracy," he added.
According to Sanofi Bangladesh's senior Regional Sales Manager ABM Morshed Alam, multi-nation companies, those sold their shares to a third party in the past, deprived their employees of provident fund and gratuities.
