Stocks rise amid low turnover
Turnover of the DSE fell by 8% to Tk475 crore during the session
Indices of the both stock exchanges witnessed upward trend amid low turnover in the first one-and-half hour of trading session on Wednesday.
DSEX, the benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 0.66% or 38.70 points to settle at 5,859 till 11:30 am today.
Turnover of the DSE fell by 8% to Tk475 crore during the session.
Moreover, DSE Shariah index DSES rose 0.49% to 1,298 points and blue-chip index DS30 gained 0.75% to 2,219 points.
During this session, 170 companies share price rose, while 86 issues fell and 90 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gain by 155 points to 17,057 till 11:30 am.
