BSEC, Bida showcase Bangladesh's investment potential in Paris

Bangladesh recently conducted a roadshow in France to actively promote investment opportunities, shedding light on the nation's remarkable development and its potential for investors.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) jointly organised the event titled "The Rise of Bengal Tiger: Bangladesh-France Trade and Investment Summit" on Monday.
At the roadshow, Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, chairman of the BSEC, said "In the past, France generously provided aid to Bangladesh, fostering a strong connection through initiatives like the Donate Club in Paris. However, our priorities have shifted, we are here to explore potential partnerships, reflecting this new focus on economic cooperation. This marks a significant change in our approach today."
Marie Masdupuy, the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, expressed Paris's interest in investing in various sectors of Bangladesh. She mentioned that approximately six weeks ago, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Bangladesh, and during this visit, discussions took place regarding mutual interests aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
Pierre-Jean Malgouyres, the President of the France-Bangladesh Business Council, announced that a business delegation is scheduled to visit Bangladesh in either February or March 2024. Their primary objective is to explore investment opportunities, assess the local economic landscape, and consider potential investments across various sectors.
Hasan Mahmud, Minister at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, and Khondker M Talha, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, were also present at the roadshow.
