Dhaka bourse ends year on positive note
During today’s session, 142 issues advanced, 184 declined, and 71 remained unchanged
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the year on a high note today (30 December), with its key index managing to finish in positive territory despite a majority of stocks experiencing declines.
The benchmark index, DSEX, surged by 11 points to reach 5,216, while the blue-chip index, DS30, gained 8 points to close at 1,939.
On Tuesday, the last day of this year, both Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges will be closed due to the bank holiday.
During today's session, 142 issues advanced, 184 declined, and 71 remained unchanged.
The daily turnover slightly decreased to Tk373 crore from the previous session.
Western Marine Shipyard led the gainers' list, followed by BIFC and Shasha Denims.
On the other hand, IPDC Finance emerged as the day's worst performer.
