Alamgir Kabir, former chairman and current director of Southeast Bank PLC, has been fined Tk12 crore for selling shares of Bay Leasing and Investment based on price-sensitive information (PSI).
Besides, another investor named Tushar LK Mia has been fined Tk2.5 crore for the same reason by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
The stock regulator announced the decisions during its meeting held today (19 November), reads a press statement.
The commission imposed the fines as both individuals violated regulations prohibiting insider trading of shares.
