Dhaka-Tashkent agree to form joint working group on trade and investment
The videoconference was organised on May 8 by Uzbek ambassador for Bangladesh in New Delhi
Bangladesh is keen to formulate a joint working group with Uzbekistan to expand business and remove existing difficulties, said Minister of Commerce Tipu Munshi.
"There is potential to increase business relations with Uzbekistan, but there are some complications in this sector as well. A joint working group – formed with the participation of experts – may resolve the issues," said the commerce minister.
The minister was addressing a videoconference organised on May 8 by Uzbek ambassador for Bangladesh in New Delhi.

Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov; Salman F Rahman, the prime minister's private industry and investment adviser; and Golam Dastagir Gazi, the minister for jute and textiles, also participated in the videoconference, among others.
A detailed discussion took place over the expansion of commercial and financial support for both the countries, the press release reads.
Later, the experts agreed to formulate a joint working group to increase trade and investment in the countries.
