The author and the star
The natural look was in fact her go-to style statement because she was not a fan of make-up.
Clad in a white cotton sari with a light golden border, actor Ashna Habib Bhabnal ooked different from her usual looks as she greeted us over lunch at her place one fine afternoon.
She informed us that the natural look was in fact her go to style statement because she was not a fan of make-up. "I do not like wearing make-up even when I attend weddings. You will see me wearing colorful clothes and jewelries but I always prefer the bare, minimal look."
In this shoot at her Dhanmondi residence, Bhabna posed in two very traditional and different looks in sarees while she engaged in a casual chitchat with us.
The actor starts her day with a glass of warm water and likes to have eggs for breakfast. She said, "Scrambled or boiled, I have to have my eggs in the morning!" Black coffee is the drink for her that she sips on throughout the day. Not a big fan of fast food, she likes to grab something light like a sandwich on her way to a shoot, which goes on for hours at a time.
She likes things to be clean, ultra clean in fact. In her words, "I am known as the aunt among my friends because of my habit of keeping everything clean and germ-free. The very first thing I do after entering the shooting place is ask the cleaner to thoroughly scrub the toilets and hand me the keys so that I can manage it! "
Her handbag usually has 2-3 bottles of hand sanitizers and perfumes along with other essentials like wallet and sunglass. However, she also prefers keeping a paper or two from scripts in the bag, just as a reminder for her ongoing role. "It puts me at ease, helps me get into the character and I feel like I am always somehow connected to the story."
Bhabna does not prefer using many beauty products and always uses coconut oil to remove make-up but she does take special interest in shoes and clothes. She prefers nude mattes to other lipsticks and depends on beauty salons for hair treatments and similar things.
One side to the actor, which not everybody knows, is that she is an avid reader of books along with being an author.
Her favourite book is 'Moru Shargo' by Abul Bashar. She always carries a book with her to shoots and the latest one was 'My Sister, the Serial Killer' by Oyinkan Braithwaite that she had bought from London.
Always honest about her relationship, Bhabna never shies away from talking about it. "One of the best things about my relationship is that we are great friends, we can always talk to each other about everything. From our works to personal experiences, we can discuss anything," she beamed.
As popular as she is, social media has not always been kind to her because celebrity trolling is something every star has to go through. "I am used to getting hate messages, they do not bother me anymore. I just enjoy life and all the good things that come with it," said the actor.
