"Sanjhbati" also highlights relationship from a completely different angle. Dev will play the character of a suburban young man who comes to the city and meets a young girl, Paoli Dam in unusual circumstances.
"The story of the film is so interesting that I took only a second to give my nod after hearing the script. My character in 'Saanjhbati' is very interesting too. Working with Leena di and Saibalda is enriching as I get to learn so much from them. I am working with Dev again after 'Password' and he is indeed a brilliant co-actor," Paoli said.
"Sanjhbati" grabbed the headlines instantly when its cast was announced and why not? It's an ensemble one. Firstly, Dev and Soumitra Chatterjee are sharing the screen for the first time and secondly, two acting powerhouses Paoli Dam and Arpita Chatterjee as the female leads – everyone was excited to hear more about the project. However, Arpita Chatterjee later announced she is no longer a part of the film because the role she has been offered doesn't look convincing to her. Sohini Sengupta replaced her in the film.
