Warfaze to playback for the first time
Heavy metal pioneers in Bangladesh, Warfaze is getting prepped up for their big screen debut.
They have provided us with timeless classics such as "Obak Bhalobasha", "Koishor", "Purnota", and "Boshe Achi Eka" – songs that has entertained generations of Bangladeshis. Then again, when it was necessary, they cranked up the volume with heavy metal favourites such as "Oshamajik", "Mukti Chai" and "Jibon Dhara".
Now for the first time, heavy metal pioneers in Bangladesh, Warfaze is getting prepped up for their big screen debut. They will be singing the title of, up and coming director Sourav Kundu's "Girgiti". In addition, the band members will also be seen in several sequences of the film.
According to Warfaze drummer and band leader Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, they have already started working on the song.
On their upcoming project, Tipu stated, "The biggest medium of art and culture is film. We have been waiting for an opportunity to work on films for a very long time. In the past, we have been approached a few times but due to unavoidable circumstances we could not make any headway. 'Girgiti' director Sourav is an avid listener of Warfaze. When he came to us with the script and making of the film and inquired if we will be willing to work with them, we decided to go on with it."
"The song will be like any other Warfaze song. We have already started working on it and definitely with be a rock song," added the veteran drummer when inquired about the song's genre.
"Girgiti" will be released under the banner of Up Studio production house and publications. The cast of the film include Taskeen Rahman, Shatabdi Wadud, Dipu Imam, Mili Bashar, Hamidur Rahman and Khalequl Zaman. The cast and crew will commence shooting on Monday, 20 January in Manikganj.
