Country to see torrential rains from July 7
Places over the southern region are likely to see more downpours than in other parts of the country

The country is likely to experience torrential rains from July 7, which will bring respite for people from the scorching heat.
"Torrential rains will continue for four or five days at a stretch," said Abdur Rahman, meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday.
Places over the southern region are likely to see more downpours than in other parts of the country, he added.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, according to the met office.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and thence north-eastwards to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
