Signal 3 at maritime ports as stormy weather may affect coastal areas

Bangladesh Meteorological Department BMD) has asked maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal three as a steep pressure gradient persists at Bay of Bengal.
Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country, confirmed Ujjal Kanti Paul, assistant meteorologist, Patenga Met office.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram, Barisal and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, said a weather forecast of BMD, valid for 24 hours commencing 6 pm today.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls also likely to occure at isolated places over Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, said the forecast.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
