The Chattogram regional office of the Department of Environment (DoE) on Thursday fined six companies for breaking the conditions of the environment clearance certificate.

Of the companies, the Global Auto Rice Mill was fined Tk1 lakh for not renewing its environment clearance certificate.
The Four Star Corporation, the Diamond Cement, the SQ Wood Preservatives, the Shahjalal Steel and the Mostafa Hakim Cement were fined Tk1 lakh each for breaking the conditions of the environment clearance certificate, confirmed Assistant Director of DoE (Chattogram) Muktadir Hassan.
