Winter chill in northern regions as mercury falls to 7°C

The sweeping mild cold wave, accompanied by dense fog, is making life harder for the residents of northern districts.
People's daily activities are being hampered due to dense fog and the cold spell.
The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degree Celsius in Panchagarh's Tentulia and Kurigram's Rajarhat on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, today's minimum temperature of Dhaka city has been recorded 13.4 degrees Celsius, according to a Met office release.
Earlier on Saturday, Tentulia in Panchagarh had recorded a temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius and the lowest minimum temperature hit 6.6 degree Celsius in Kurigram's Rajarhat.
Besides, Mild to moderate cold waves are sweeping over Rangpur divisions and the regions of Gopalgonj, Feni, Srimangal, Pabna, Badalgachhi, Jashore, Kumarkhali, Chuadanga, Barishal and Bhola.
It may continue, according to the forecast.
"Weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Light to moderate fog may occur in the country during midnight to morning," reads the release.
Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain unchanged over the country.
