Home grown plants
Your immense love for your plants does not need to be expressed by over-watering them.
Living in a green environment is a nostalgia to the Dhaka dwellers. Longing for a fresh and lively environment or an aesthetic sense, any of them or both can contribute to the idea of keeping indoor plants. Whether be it a big family house or a studio apartment, at least a few money plants on a pot can install a calming vibe in the room.
Keeping indoor plants has become popular among apartment dwellers. Taking care of plants is also important as we definitely want them to be healthy.
Choose a right pot!
Your small money plant or fern does not need a large pot obviously. But your Large Kentia Palm or Tall Cacti would definitely need a bigger pot. So remember to choose your pot rightly. And make a small hole on the down so that air can enter.
Give them some sunshine!
Though placed indoor, your plants are an integral part of outer nature. They need to breathe more freely. So choose a place where they can get adequate sunlight and air. Indirect sunlight is mostly preferable.
Plants may not be a great traveler like you!
Yes, right! There is huge possibility of your plants not being fond of changing environment. They are habituated with the same environment and temperature. So, do not make them move around a lot.
Stop Over-watering!
Your immense love for your plants does not need to be expressed by over-watering them. Notice the soil properly. Most of the plants need a little water. If the soil is wet properly, plant would not need water anymore. Plants like Ground Lily may need a little more water. Again ensure drier soil for your rose plants.
Let the soil breathe!
Make the pot's soil loose with a stick or fingers after some days so that it can breathe properly. Plants' roots need to get adequate air, most importantly oxygen.
Humidity, not bad always!
When you are bothered about extreme humidity inside and outside, your plants are always in need of a relative humidity. Higher humidity which is above 50 is a good choice for indoor. Do not panic! You would not need any machinery to ensure the humidity. Simply try to keep your plants close to each other, use a humidifier, and use a mist water bottle to spray water on the leaves but be conscious about your plants' type in this regard.
About using fertilizer
Most of the plants need fertilizer. Cow dung is the best choice for this. A small amount of cow dung with the soil is good for any plant. Therefore, try to avoid chemical fertilizer.
Stop gathering tea and coffee dust in the pot
Do not be over possessive about your plants' wellbeing. Gathering tea and coffee dust in the pot can cause the opposite reaction of the wellbeing. Sugar in these elements damage roots greatly.
Moreover, as we long for care, plants do so also. Sometimes a small stroke can make both of you and your plants feel better!
