Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 9 series and Mi Note 10 Lite
Xiaomi officially launched its Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Mi Note 10 globally last week. Keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, the launching ceremony was hosted online. Though the smartphones made their debut, they are not yet available for purchase in Bangladesh and many other countries due to the pandemic.
Let us take a look at the models' features.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9
The Note 9 is equipped with a quad-camera setup in the rear; 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with a 118-degree field-of-view, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. It has a 13MP front camera placed in a notch cutout on the display.
It is the first smartphone to have been powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. The processor comes with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-G52 GPU by Arm Developer.
Redmi Note 9 features a 6.53-inch DotDisplay which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front. It has a Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a cutout on the top-left corner for the front camera.
The Note 9 is powered by a 5020mAh battery that supports 18W fast-charging. It runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
The smartphone comes in two variants; 3/64GB and 4/128GB.
The price for Redmi Note 9 is set for $199 (3/64GB) and $249 (4/128GB) and it may vary due to VAT, taxes, and other factors.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
The Note 9 Pro is also equipped with a quad-camera setup in the rear; 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with a 118-degree field-of-view, 5MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. It has a 16MP front camera placed in a notch cutout on the display.
Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 6.67-inch DotDisplay which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front. It has a Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a cutout on the top-centre for the front camera.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 618 GPU. It comes with a 5020mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that the Note 9 Pro has the fastest-ever charging speed among its Note Series; 57 percent in just 30 minutes (data tested by Xiaomi internal lab).
The smartphone comes in two variants; 6/64GB and 6/128GB.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
The Mi Note 10 Lite sports a 6.47- 3D curved AMOLED display and a 3D curved glass. It has a Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a cutout on the top-centre for the front camera.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset with an octa-core processor. It comes with a 5260mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that the Mi Note 10 Lite can charge from 0-100 percent in just 64 minutes (data tested by Xiaomi internal lab).
The Note 9 Pro is also equipped with a quad-camera setup in the rear; 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field-of-view, 5MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro camera. It has a 16MP AI front camera placed in a notch cutout on the display.
