City of Lights
Ever wondered what Dhaka looks like at night from an aerial view?
A Dhaka based photographer Meer Sadi, inspired by that idea, took up a photography project titled "City of Lights." He captured several of the bustling city at night with his camera.
Sadi, a computer engineer, grew up in Dhaka, and for his love for the city started capturing the never-seen-before photos of the capital. His journey in photography began in 2009.

Since then, he has been exploring different subjects in photography - including commercial, architectural, industrial, cityscape, fine-art and conceptual.
Talking about the project, Sadi said, "I chose cityscape photography because I have always been fascinated by different buildings and structures and how everything is interconnected within a metropolis."
For the project, Sadi started taking photos back in 2012. He has been scouting and visiting different locations in the city for the last eight years to take photos.
Sadi recalled his struggles to get access to climb on the high-rise buildings or rooftops to capture the perfect moment of quiet and stunning Dhaka at night.
"With time and a lot of persuasion I managed the permissions and got the shots I wanted. For me, the trouble was well worth it."
Over the years, Sadi visited many iconic places in Dhaka such as Manik Mia Avenue, Hatirjheel, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Banani flyover, Wari, Farmgate, for the photos.
Asked about the reason for the project, Sadi said: "We are known as a poor country to the world; I want to change that perspective through my photography."
Sadi wants to show how one of the world's most densely populated city looks like from a wider perspective and from the top.
Currently, he has another project going on titled, "360-degree aerial photos."
