Turn your home into an efficient workspace
Make your home office look and feel comfortable by converting unused spaces into workstation
Many people in Bangladesh have been stuck at home for the past three months due to the Covid-19 restrictions. As a result, homes have turned into makeshift workplaces for many. While home offices spare us from the trouble of commuting everyday through the thick Dhaka traffic, they can also feel monotonous over time, impacting work performance.
But don't let your home spaces keep you from having a functional office. These small home office ideas as proof that great things can happen in small spaces.
Dining space turned office
The dining area can be converted into an office that is ideal for anyone who needs larger surface spaces to work in, like an architect or a designer. The dining table can be used as a desk, conference table, and also a place to organize materials for upcoming projects. To make the space feel closer to the heart, you can decorate the area with colors of your choice and hang up bold artwork that immediately grabs someone's attention.
Home office space on one wall
If you have one wall available to you and it's out in the open, create a setup which is well organized and appealing to the eyes. Always remember to look up when creating an organized space. Your walls are begging to be put to good use! Use a wall mounted calendar, white board and mail organizer for the wall area.
Mini-home office nook
It's truly amazing what you can do with a small space. Do you have a tiny nook somewhere that's just sitting empty or you've never thought about using it for anything? Utilize the side walls by putting up a calendar or white boards. The seating arrangements simply require floating shelves, a small desk and a comfortable chair to go with.
Bedroom office
If other areas of the house seem too chaotic for six to seven hours of hectic work, your bedroom can always be put to more use. Turn it into your office by replacing the nightstand with a small desk if you're not comfortable with the idea of working from your bed. If your productivity is dependent on a steady stream of natural light, position the desk in front of a window or balcony if it has glass doors.
Clean and Bright
If your home gets plenty of natural air and light, you can create a clean and bright home office that is the perfect place to think and create. Take good advantage of the natural light streaming inside your house by setting up your workstation close to the source. To keep the area free from clutter, attach a multi plug board to the closest electric outlet for your phone and laptop and neatly coil the extended cable around itself.
