Application deadline for 43rd BCS extended by two months

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has extended the application time for the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination till March 31.

All educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 18, 2020 as per the government instructions. No examinations took place at the graduation and post-graduation level during the period.
As a result, the applicants could not apply for the 43rd BCS as their examinations did not complete on time.
In the meantime, the post-graduation level examinations have started.
On January 21, the University Grants Commission (UGC) on this ground urged the BPSC to extend the application deadline for the 43rd civil service examination till 31 March.
Against such a backdrop, the vice-chancellors of all public universities held a meeting on 13 December and decided to take examinations of the final year students at graduation and post-graduation level, complying with hygiene rules.
According to the notification, 1,814 officers will be recruited in different cadres from the 43rd BCS. Of these, 300 will be appointed in administration, 100 in police, 25 in foreign service, 743 in education, 35 in audit, 22 in information, 19 in tax, 14 in customs, and 19 in cooperatives.
The online application process for the 43rd BCS examination started on 30 December.

The PSC specified that the applicants must pay exam fees within 72 hours of filling in the forms online.
