Ford’s all-rounder: Ranger Raptor 2020

When it comes to four-wheel-drive (4WD) trucks, the only use we can find for them in Bangladesh is either for hauling goods or for other official purposes. Off-road segment vehicles for personal use have not been able to attract sufficient customers yet.

This beast is powered by Ford's latest high-tech 2.0L Bi-Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine. Its 1996cc along with the twin-turbocharged technology can deliver a maximum power of 157kW and torque of 500Nm. 

It is tamed by its 10-speed automatic transmission which suits all types of shifting. However, compared to the six-speed Tiptronic-style transmission that came with the earlier models, it might be less fun to play with. But the rocker switch mounted beside the gear lever allows the driver to easily lock out between gears - from 7th gear to 3rd – swiftly. 

To further enhance control, the Ranger Raptor 2020 comes with an electronic stability programme that can tailor the drive no matter what condition you are in. The controls – rollover mitigation, hill launch assist, hill descent control, trailer sway control, and adaptive load control can smoothen the off-road, on-road, up-hill, down-hill drive, and reduce the risks of accidents. 

On the inside, the Ranger Raptor 2020 can accommodate four passengers and the seating arrangement provides the maximum comfort. No matter how bumpy the ride is, its FOX racing suspensions can reduce the jumps and bumps on any terrain. 

This fine-tuned beast has a very bold look. The brand's name on the front grille in block letters takes its appearance up a notch as well. All in all, it is packed with a lot of energy waiting to be unleashed on the roads. 

The truck comes in five colours – metallic blue, metallic grey, solid white, metallic black, and solid red.
