Revving into the past: JAAB second anniversary celebrates automotive icons

As the early rays of daylight emerged at the dawn of January 31, 2025, Japanese automobile enthusiasts assembled to commemorate the second anniversary of the Japanese Antique Automobiles of Bangladesh (JAAB). Held at ICCB, the event showcased an impressive array of Japanese bred cars. The assembly attracted a crowd of likeminded individuals who shared a mutual admiration and passion for JDM icons.

Some noteworthy mentions from the line-up include Toyota 70, 80 and 90 Corollas with a rare corolla fx, Carina GTs, a pair of MarkII and Chaser, an offroad Toyota Hilux we previously featured, Toyota Levin and Trueno, Toyota Starlet EP71 and EP82, a handful of Hondas, a pristine Mitsubishi Pajero and L200, Datsun 120y, and more, each welcomed with admiration and photos by the eager crowd.

The ambiance was further enlivened with the spontaneous revving of old-school engines and periodic periodic pops and bangs of aftermarket exhausts. The event participants involved themselves in spirited conversation about restoration efforts together with modifications and historical aspects of their cherished vehicles. Numerous attendees stared in admiration as the convoy united its motion while displaying the Japanese Domestic Model (JDM) heritage through its vintage yet lively appearance. Community members exchanged technical knowledge and stories that further developed the inherent bond among members. People came to celebrate both their automotive passion and traditional Japanese automotive culture together with their mastery of automotive craftsmanship during this event.

The event closed off with a quick breakfast at 10am, accompanied by a cake-cutting ceremony and innumerable photographs to cherish the day. The foggy winter Friday morning served as the perfect setup for enthusiasts to bond over shared interests, appreciate the fine selection of Japanese automobiles, and be a part of JAAB's remarkable achievement.
