All eyes on the final season of Attack on Titan
The season finale of Attack on Titan is set to release on December 7 and will be available on Netflix from December 11
As each day passes, we are more eager to continue our journey with Eren, Mikasa and Armin on their final destination in Attack on Titan, one of our most beloved anime, that will be released on December 7 and will be available on Netflix from December 11.
Since the release of the trailer, fans have not been able to get the show's hype out of their heads. They keep on sharing every post related to the series on their timeline, going through all the Easter eggs they can find, and some are also seeing the series from scratch again to refresh their memory.
The last time there was this kind of buzz for a show was before the release of the last season of Game of Thrones. But as fans, we certainly do not want it to go down the same path as GoT.
So, what are the expectations from the final season of Attack on Titan?
The third season of the series was quite a lot to take in as it started to reveal many major secrets we have been waiting so patiently to know since the show was first aired in 2013.
The season was a lot more complicated than the previous two as it revealed some internal politics, shocking twists, dramatic flashbacks and obviously the amazing fighting scenes that were a treat to watch.
When it was announced that Attack on Titan has shifted from Wit studio to Mappa studio, some fans had serious concerns. But as soon as the trailer dropped, it left us amazed. The shots in the trailer were quite up to the mark, as well as the camera work.
The first look of the major characters tells us that some time has passed from where we previously left off. A lot more development in the characters could also be noticed in the trailer as we come across Jean, Connie, Sasha, even Reiner, and most importantly, Eren.
At the same time, Arwin, Mikasa, and Levi seemed pretty much the same. Along with that, many new characters are set to make an appearance in the final season. We also get to meet the ninth and final type of titan, but the character behind it still remains a mystery.
As far as the story goes, many questions are yet to be answered. How did Eren Kruger get to know about Mikasa and Arwin? What role will the Ackermans play in the final season?
We can only hope that creator Hajime Isayama will be kind enough to answer our queries. Although he did answer one of the questions - Annie is finally back in the final season, just as we saw her the last time at the end of the first season.
Among all uncertainties, one thing that is sure is that we will get to see an awful lot of action scenes in the final season, which never disappoints the fans.
According to critics, the storyline will take a major shift from what we have seen so far. The outside world is still quite unknown to us as we only got to see it through flashbacks, and its revelation will be one of the great surprises in the final season.
We will enter a whole new level as this is also considered phase two of the storyline.
Isayama, in a recent interview, hinted that the series might not end on a happy note. He said he wanted to "attack" something, and that attack might leave a scar in our hearts, which will always remind us of the ending of this epic series.
With all the hype going on, we will not want it to end too soon. Also, we would not be able to bear the pain of a dissatisfying ending. But one thing that surely will disappoint us is the ending of a wonderful anime series.
No more getting puzzled by a complex storyline, no more waiting for the next season, no more seeing Levi and Mikasa in action, ripping off a mighty titan.
Yuki Kaji, the voice artist of Eren Jaeger, said in an interview he felt like playing Eren for the rest of his life.
The wait is almost over and from December 7, we begin a new journey - a journey towards the end.
The final season can swing either way, from what we have experienced by now. It is now just a matter of time to know how it plays out.
