Anarya Murshid’s ‘Qasida of Dhaka’ to be screened in German film fest
The film gives viewers a glimpse into Qasida – a music genre that was introduced in Dhaka during the reign of the Mughal emperors
Filmmaker Anarya Murshid's documentary film "Qasida of Dhaka" will be screened at the Glimpse of South Asia Film Festival on 25 June in Germany.
The documentary received lots of appreciation from both the audience and critics after it was released last year on several OTT platforms and YouTube.
The film gives viewers a glimpse into Qasida – a music genre that was introduced in Dhaka during the reign of the Mughal emperors.
Jayanto Chattopadhyay acted as the narrator of the film while Rassell Abedin Taj was the cinematographer. Prince Shuvo was the music director of the documentary.
"Qasida of Dhaka" also won the Best Documentary Film Award at the Indus Valley International Film Festival in Delhi, India last year.
The documentary film will also be screened at the Short and Documentary Film Festival organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on 23 June.
