Aynabaji returns as a web series

Aynabaji is making a comeback in the form of a web series four years after its successful release on the big screen. Director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury has teamed up again with the original crew of Chanchal Chowdhury, Masuma Rahman Nabila, Partha Barua and others to create Ghore Boshe Aynabaji in effort to raise awareness against coronavirus. 

But why this name and initiative? Ziauddin Adil, the founding chairman of the production house of Aynabaji - Top of Mind, has clarified the matter to The Business Standard. "The production was done from home as it is not possible to shoot outdoors due to coronavirus. Amitabh directed the whole series online. That's why the web series is named Ghore Boshe Aynabaji." 

Popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury who played the lead role Ayna in the film, also played the role in the web series, but from his home. Chanchal's son Raddur Shuddha took the shots. The correspondent asked him how he felt performing in front of his son. To which he said, "It was a new experience for me."

Although Amitabh briefed the shoot online, Chanchal's work from his end was still difficult. All the scenes required several shots before the final take. Chanchal said that he worked from home for three days in a row and his son encouraged him the whole time. 

Aynabaji actor Nabila has had a similar experience. However, this is not the first time she has worked from home. A few days ago, she anchored a programme by Grameen Phone from her home.But shooting for Aynabaji from home was a different experience. 

"This is a good news for me that Aynabaji is coming back. The new plotline on coronavirus is quite good. Everyone will enjoy it as well," Nabila said.

According to producer Adil, the web series will be free to stream. Season one of the series features three episodes.

The episodes will be available on YouTube and Facebook within a week. The global non-government organization Brac and the Government of Australia partnered up to support the initiative.
