Disney+ compiles ‘Simpsons’ episodes that predict the future
Disney+ subscribers will be able to find these moments all in one place through a “The Simpsons Predict” collection
Disney + is collecting and compiling 'The Simpsons' episodes that seem to have predicted the future.
The Simpsons has been known for predicting a range of major historical events starting from Donald Trump's presidency to the football World Cup results.
Now, Disney+ subscribers will be able to find these moments all in one place through a "The Simpsons Predict" collection, which contains 13 of the show's most impressive soothsayer episodes.
Included in the playlist are 2000's "Bart to the Future", which makes reference to a future Trump presidency and 1997's "The City of New York vs Homer Simpson", which some fans said foreshadowed 9/11.
Fans recently suggested that a 1993 episode of the show predicted the coronavirus pandemic after Japanese factory workers spread "Osaka Flu" to the US.
However, these jokes were condemned by a former Simpsons writer, who told The Hollywood Reporter: "The idea that anyone misappropriates it to make coronavirus seem like an Asian plot is terrible. In terms of trying to place blame on Asia – I think that is gross."
