Disney+ surprises the fans, announces 'WandaVision' TV series coming this year
WandaVision will also showcase other actors from the Avengers films.
Almost all production houses are delaying their releases amidst the pandemic. However, Disney+ won't be delaying the hyped WandaVision series.
Collider reports, the series is still set to debut this year; this comes as a surprise as almost all new features have been delayed as a result of the pandemic.
According to Disney, "With the first anniversary of Disney+ on November 12, the service will kick off its second year with even more original entertainment premiering in late 2020 including WandaVision, the upcoming original series from Marvel Studios."
If other features from Disney weren't delayed, the WandaVision series would have followed the film Black Widow. But it's been recently reported even Black Widow has a chance of being delayed till next year.
With Falcon and the Winter Soldier still being filmed, and Black Widow having a probable 2021 release date, WandaVision might be the only feature from Marvel that'd be released this year.
The series will see Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—live their ideal suburban lives. It's believed it would give off a sitcom vibe.
WandaVision will also showcase other actors from the Avengers films. Especially, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis (from the first two Thor movies), Randall Park as FBI Jimmy Woo (from Ant-Man and the Wasp)
