‘Eka’- A film by Bangladeshi producers’ makes it to Cannes La Fabrique
Arifur Rahman and Bijon of Goopy Bagha Productions from Bangladesh has co-produced the film
Bangladesh-India-France co-production film 'EKA' (Solo) is among the 10 films selected from all around the world at La Fabrique Cinéma de l'Institut français 2021.
Indian filmmaker Suman Sen has directed the film while Arifur Rahman and Bijon of Goopy Bagha Productions from Bangladesh has co-produced the film with France's renowned producer Dominique Welinski of DW Productions.
Bijon Imtiaz, a director at Goopy Bagha Productions announced the news on his Facebook account.
Bijon Imtiaz said, "It has been an amazing journey with our film Eka; so many ups and downs, twists and turns- now we are on the last stretch and hoping the film will become reality soon "
"I am ever grateful to Film Bazaar and TorinoFilmLab for being such an integral part of this film," Imtiaz added.
Solo has already been part of NFDC Film Bazaar's co-production market in 2019 and was also selected by Torino Film Lab Next (TFL) in 2020.
The film "Eka" focuses on the life of a common man in Kolkata. A man who is faced with the hard hit realities of the changing social, economic and cultural conditions of society.
