Elle Fanning is set to feature in Hulu's drama about the Michelle Carter texting-suicide case titled The Girl From Plainville.
The story will follow the events that led Conrad Roy to his death. A death that made his then girlfriend Michelle Carter face trial for homicide. Prosecutors argued Michelle's calls and texts were the reason for Conrad's apparent suicide. Primarily her texts that encouraged his suicide three years prior.
The thriller comes from The Post writer Liz Hannah and Dr. Death exec producer Patrick Macmanus.
The series is based on the Esquire article of the same name. The rights to it was won just last year by UCP; they will go on to produce the thriller series.
UCP has had recent success with crime dramas. The Girl From Plainville is expected to be another one of their successful features. On the production they also have a show lined up about Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic rivalry. It has the critically acclaimed SNL star Kate McKinnon attached to it.
Fanning's portrayal of Michelle Carter is expected to come with a bang as her previous collaboration with UCP "The Great" was also a success.
