James Gunn Revealed ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer Release Date and Poster
The Suicide Squad will see the return of Viola Davis as Amanda Waller
The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, is scheduled to hit theaters and HBO Max in August. Despite a large appearance at last year's DC FanDome virtual convention, audiences have yet to see an official trailer for the film, but that's soon about to change.
On Thursday, Gunn took the Twitter by storm as he confirmed that the trailer for The Suicide Squad will be released on Friday, March 26th. Furthermore, Gunn also revealed the grindhouse style official poster for the film, which features our merry band of villains as well as a long list of the stellar cast.
The Suicide Squad will see the return of Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Colonel Rick Flag, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang from 2016's Suicide Squad.
We will also see David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Steve Agee as King Shark, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, Nathan Fillion as T.D.K., Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Flula Borg as Javelin, Mayling Ng as Mongal, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, Michael Rooker as Savant, Alice Braga as Sol Soria, and Sean Gunn as Weasel.
The Suicide Squad's promotion begins five months before the film's theatrical release, owing to the poster and the forthcoming trailer launch. Though this has been the case since the COVID-19 pandemic, studios have changed their schedules to accommodate a streaming-only market.
The superhero movie drought in 2020 has finally been broken by amazing projects like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Zack Snyder's Justice League, and now The Suicide Squad.
