Kanye West gets only 2% in latest US presidential poll
2 fake filings were listed to the commission, one of the candidates name was “Ye West” and the other one was “Mr. Kenye Omari West." Both of them listed 'white house' as their address.
It seems Kanye West catchy slogan could not put him at top spot to win popularity for the next presidential election.
In Redfield & Wilton Strategies polls, 2000 registered voters in US were not impressed by the rapper's candidacy according to reports by NME.
Joe Biden leads the pack with 48%, with Donald Trump in second with 40% but with inclusion of Kanye West in the poll, Trump's number dips to 39% while Biden's remains the same.
On July 4, West issued his own declaration when he announced a presidential run. He was initially supported by Elon Musk, who has since walked back his endorsement following West's interview with Forbes.
According to a spokesperson of FEC (Federal Election Commission) West did not file any paperwork to make his campaign official.
However, there has been 2 fake filings to the commission after Kanye West's tweet on the 4th of July.
One had listed the candidate's name as "Ye West" and the next had stated candidate's name "Mr. Kenye Omari West". Both of them listed the white house as their address.
The FEC spokesperson has also said that these fake filings will be further investigated. And if any "fake or fictitious" information is provided, a notice will be sent to the filer.
As deadline approaches in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan the Kanye West campaign seems more unlikely to materialize.
West also shared in that interview that he's no longer voting for President Trump, he had COVID-19 and is an anti-vaxxer.
