Letitia Wright deletes social media accounts after anti-vaccine video Backlash

"Black Panther" star Letitia Wright has deleted her social media accounts after receiving swift backlash for posting a link to a 70-minute YouTube video by a coronavirus vaccine skeptic in her accounts.

The clip she shared was from On The Table - a YouTube channel presented by Arayomi, a law graduate whose mother is a dentist and father is a doctor.

Letitia, best known for playing T'Challa's sister Shuri in the MCU, a character that will reportedly take a more central role in the Black Panther franchise's future, received backlash for not only posting the video, but for defending her posting.

Reacting to the backlash that followed, she tweeted, "If you don't conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself....you get cancelled." She also responded to several Twitter users who criticised her decision to share the video.

Fans immediately accused her of spreading false and potentially dangerous content that could bolster misinformation. And many other celebrities slammed her for the anti-vaccination comment. Wright, who played 'Shruri' in the Marvel franchise,' also received scrutiny from co-star Don Cheadle.

She doubled-down on her stance soon after, writing on Friday: "My intention was not to hurt anyone, my only intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies. Nothing else." 

However, it appears as if the 27-year-old actress has now deleted her accounts on Instagram and Twitter on Saturday.
