Mark Ruffalo joins Emma Stone in Yorgos Lanthimos' next movie 'Poor Things'
Poor Things is essentially a reimagining of Frankenstein
Mark Ruffalo is scheduled to play opposite Emma Stone in Poor Things, the next film from 'The Favourite' director Yorgos Lanthimos, following his well-deserved Golden Globe win for his dual roles in 'I Know This Much Is True'.
The film is being developed by Searchlight Pictures and is based on a book by renowned Scottish novelist Alasdair Gray, which has been described as a 'hilarious political allegory' and 'a send-up of Victorian literature' as well as 'a thought-provoking duel between the desires of men and the independence of women.'
Poor Things is essentially a reimagining of Frankenstein in which the monster is replaced with Bella Baxter (Stone), a gorgeous, temperamental erotomaniac who is brought back to life with the brain of an infant.
The three-time Oscar nominee Mark recently wrapped Netflix's time travel movie 'The Adam Project' starring Ryan Reynolds. He's represented by UTA, Lighthouse Management & Media, and attorney Keith A. Klevan.
