Matthew McConaughey tells people to ‘wear the damn mask’
McConaughey clarified that his views on masks was not attributed to his politics.
'True Detective' actor Matthew McConaughey took to Instagram to promote an essential health message.
On the occasion of 4th of July, the Independence day of America. The actor posted an Instagram video saying "We gotta look ourselves in the eye and among other things wear a damn mask," according to report by Yahoo.
We gotta look in the mirror and ask ourselves,"How can I be better? How can I expect more of myself and others? How can I be more responsible? How can I have more compassion? How can I have more courage? How can I be more fair? How do I make sure that I wear the damn mask?," the actor added.
McConaughey clarified that his views on masks cannot be attributed to his politics. He previously told CBS Sunday Morning, "It's about us. It's not about politics."
In the same interview, McConaughey asked people to keep public health and politics aside. The virus doesn't give a damn who you voted for, or I voted for, you know?" said the actor.
In April, the actor even showed his fans how to make their own masks at home- Using different clothing materials. McConaughey has also donated masks to hospital workers in the state of Louisiana and Texas.
