'Mujib Amar Pita’ premieres at Star Cineplex today

The first full-length animated film of Bangladesh, "Mujib Amar Pita", premiered at Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City today, commemorating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 75th birth anniversary.
Information Minister Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the premiere show in the evening, said a press release of the ministry.
The film is based on the book 'Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita' (My Father Mujib), written by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cleared the censor board on 16 September.
Dr Hasan Mahmud said the film, based on the book written by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been released on her birthday and is a milestone in the field of national films.
Animated movies have previously been made in the country but 'Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita' (My Father Mujib) is the first one that got censorship clearance, the minister said.
In the past two decades, the world has seen major changes, including in the film industry, he said, adding that "In that context, this animation film will play a vital role."
State Minister for ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, who presided over the inaugural programme, said "This film depicted how the Bangabandhu's daughter saw her father, which will hopefully inspire everyone in this nation."
The film depicts the early life of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Information and Communication Technology Division funded the film and was produced in collaboration with BMIT Solutions Limited and Prolancer Studio.
Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, chief coordinator, National Implementation Committee for the celebration of Mujib Borsho and Bangabandhu Museum curator, Dr Nazrul Islam also spoke at the event, among others.
