NTV Chief of Program dies from Covid-19
Syed was admitted to Square Hospitals on May 11 after testing positive for the virus.
Television channel NTV's Chief of Program Mustafa Kamal Syed died today at 1.30 pm from Covid-19 in the intensive care unit of Square Hospitals. He was aged 78. Alfred Khokhon, NTV's program producer, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Syed was admitted to Square Hospitals on May 11 after testing positive for the virus.
Syed had been a senior member of NTV since 2003, the year the channel came into being. Before joining NTV, he was the former Deputy General Manager of Bangladesh Television (BTV) since before independence.
His burial will take place in Banani Graveyard after Magrib prayers, following the Covid-19 burial protocols.
