Satyajit Ray's Feluda and Professor Shanku to be incorporated in a film to mark director’s birth centenary

To mark the 100th birth anniversary of one of the greatest film-makers of all time, Satyajit Ray, a film has been announced to put two of his iconic characters together.
SVF will release a film featuring two of Ray's iconic characters Feluda and Professor Shonku, reported by India Today.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by his son Sandip Ray. The film showcasing two of the monumental characters in Bengali literature will be released in May next year.
Satyajit Ray was one of the most iconic filmmakers the country has ever seen. The director-writer-music composer made films like The Apu Trilogy (195559), The Music Room (1958), The Big City (1963) and Charulata (1964), among others. 2021 marks the 100th birth anniversary of the celebrated director.
Recently, it was announced that a collection of stills of the 1974 Satyajit Ray film Sonar Kella will be published in the autumnal issue of the children's Bengali magazine Sandesh this month. The maestro's director son Sandip Ray told PTI that the stills were taken in 1973 during the outdoor shooting of Sonar Kella, the first film on the iconic fictional sleuth Feluda created by the filmmaker.
