Tanvir Mokammel’s ‘Rupsha Nodir Bankey’ coming on 11 December
The government funded movie will be released in Star Cineplex and other theatres on 11 December.
Acclaimed director and Ekushey Padak winner Tanvir Mokammel is ready to take the audience on an emotional journey with his latest movie "Rupsha Nodir Bankey."
The government funded movie will be released in Star Cineplex and other theatres on 11 December.
The movie showcases the journey of a leftist leader and how he experiences the cruel reign of under British rule during the anti-British Swadeshi movement, the 1947 Partition, the Tebhaga movement, creation of Pakistan, killing of political prisoners in Rajshahi jail, till the Liberation War and eventually the birth of Bangladesh.
Stage and TV actor Zahid Hossain Shovon plays the protagonist at a young age while veteran actor Khairul Alam Sobuj plays the older version of the character.
The cinematography of the film was done by late Mahfuzur Rahman Khan while Mahadeb Shi edited the movie.
The movie also includes members such as Naziba Basher, Ramendu Majumder, Ataur Rahman, Chittralekha Guha, Jhuna Chowdhury, Afzal Kabir, Rajib Salehin and Masum Basher.
Child artist Turjo played the role of the communist leader as a young boy in the movie.
Renowned director Tanvir Mokammel has won National Film Awards for films such as Nodir Naam Modhumoti (1995), Chitra Nodir Pare (1999) and Lalsalu (2001).
