Urmila is watching old dramas during shutdown
Actor Urmila is watching old TV dramas during her time in shutdown. She believes watching old TV series is helping her to sharpen acting skills.
It has been almost two months since actor Urmila Srabonti Kar is social distancing at her home. As the whole industry is in a standstill, she is not working for any dramas or other projects.
The actor said she has been indoor the entire time. She is cooking, doing chores to help her mother. Besides, she is getting some reading done and watching old TV dramas.
Urmila likes watching TV series on Netflix, but she particularly finds old dramas interesting. She told us about the reason she finds old shows worth watching.
"Our senior artists have worked on amazing scripts. I would have remained unaware of it if I did not watch those series. The stories and themes are reflection of that time. Other than that I am a big fan of their works. But I do not get much time to enjoy it. I am just utilizing the shutdown at its best," said the actor.
She also said, watching the works is helping her to learn new techniques of acting. She is totally mesmerized by the stature and dedication to their works.
"I spend a huge amount of time in Netflix watching movies and series as well," she said.
The actor is trying to help her underprivileged colleagues as much as she can. She thinks the lockdown is a time of realization as everyone is getting time to think while they are at home.
"Corona has barred us from going outside. But it has opened the door to our inner self" she opined.
However, she misses the camera. She reminisced the moments when she had busy schedule of shooting. She hopes that the world will recover soon where they will be working. She believes good times are ahead us.
This actor came to media through the pageant "Lux Channel I superstar" in 2009. She was one of the 5 finalists.
She stepped into acting through the play "Jotil Prem" directed by Taher Shipon in 2010. She did not look back after that. She has completed a decade of her acting career.
She has worked in numerous dramas throughout her career. The audience has seen her in a few commercials and as a model in different music videos.
Urmila Shrabosti Kor, popularly known as Urmila, was born in Chittagong Cantonment. She grew up in Chattogram as her father's job was posted there.
She was a student of Chittagong Public Cantonment College and Chittagong University. Though she was a student of L.L.B, in career, she chose her passion over academic education.
She was a familiar name in campus as an all-rounder. She was good at singing, dancing, debate and painting. Also she was a good basketball and handball player.
The actor informed that she came to showbiz as her parents inspired her and their motivation keeps her going.
"The way my audience have loved me cannot be compared to anything. I do not know how to repay them" she said.
She wishes to work as long as she can in showbiz for the love of her audience.
