90's popular show "X-Files" to return as an animated series on Fox.
The animated comedy show is already in works and the show is reportedly titled "The X-Files: Albuquerque".
The show would revolve around an office full of misfit agents who investigate X-Files cases which are too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to bother with.
Many from the original show are attached with the series already. The "X-Files" creator Chris Carter is set to be an executive producer of the project. Gabe Rotter, who worked on the "X-Files" revival at Fox, will also executive produce.
The live-action series went for nine season on Fox through 2002 before it was revived for two seasons in 2016.
Further information about the project hasn't yet been revealed, keeping the hopes alive for cast members from the live-action series to voice the characters in the show.
Fox is gradually moving towards more projects relating to animation shows. This is believed to be as a result of the Disney-Fox deal.
