Lee’s speech is being immortalized by the new generation of Hong Kong.
Bruce Lee has become a symbol for the young demonstrators of Hong Kong. “Be formless, shapeless, like water,” the famous saying of the late star Bruce Lee has become the clarion call of young protesters.
The government had set the bill last month. Lee’s words have inspired the protestors to form guerilla tactics-- formless, shapeless protests in scattered parts of the territory which put the government on pressure.
Although the great Kung Fu King Bruce Lee died in 1973, he still resides in the hearts of people all around the world.

From a short and skinny kid, Lee had become the most popular martial artist in the world.
Despite being advised not to do any martial arts again after a back injury, no other martial artist in history has been able to share the same limelight as Lee.
“When life gives you obstacles, you must summon the courage and walk on!” Lee wrote this in his injury time.
Lee never gave up and used his injury time to pen down his thoughts on marital arts and life. The result is his famous writings that we have today.
“We are formless, we are shapeless, we can flow, we can crash, we are like water, we are Hongkongers!” -- one protester’s placard read Lee’s philosophy.
T-shirts and cloths bearing Bruce Lee’s words with the martial arts icon has become a symbol of the movement.

The demonstrators want concessions which include formal withdrawal of the bill--which would have allowed the shifting of fugitives to mainland China.
They also want a judicial inquiry on police violence against the protesters.
Around 2 million people took part in the protest on June 16, a day after the government announced the shelving of the law.
It was the biggest in the territory’s history.
Activists have planned to organize protests in other parts of Hong Kong, hoping these will tap into a broader range of grievances.
The protest will be staged every weekend, in every district, until the demands are met.
