Greece on Wednesday ordered the closure of schools and banned public gatherings in three districts in the west of the country from Thursday as a precaution after a person from the region tested positive for coronavirus, authorities said.
The precautionary measures were announced by the Health Ministry after the 9th COVID-19 case in the country was confirmed.
Greece reported its tenth case of coronavirus on Thursday, a person related to an individual who recently travelled to Israel and Egypt, health authorities said.
It is reported that the patient, a 67-year-old man from Patras may have infected dozens of people. The man had traveled to Israel and Egypt together with a group of 53 people. His co-passengers, aged between 27-70 years old, were not only from his hometown Amaliadia and others towns in Ilia Prefecture in Peloponnese, but also from Zakynthos, reported Greek City Times.
